Hi, I’m Poppy! A Hull-born Founder & multi-disciplinary Creative based in Glasgow…

Graduating as a soprano into COVID-19 was the fuel for real creative expansion. I founded Showcase Creative Studio in 2020, going on to platform over 300 humans and organisations in the music industry with reclaimed authenticity, introducing a new style of web design and approach to digital marketing to the industry. I write, serve on the board of Trustees for Song in the City, and collaborate on creative projects in an expanding number of ways. My work is driven by a personal mission to platform and make space for people that might otherwise feel pushed out. To practice community and imagining what comes next. Outside of work, I slowly tick off Scotland’s glorious Munros, go on writing retreats, cook and host, practice yoga, and balance my love of Glasgow for solo travelling the world.

I spend so much time working with other artist’s biographies and websites that It feels poignant to be sitting down to consider my own. I could rattle off the roles, awards I got or almost got, and the hard earned stamps of approval, but I feel grateful to have now created work that lives beyond that.
At the moment I was reaching burnout as a singer, I was on the London underground when a notification buzzed on my phone. “Congrats on the Guardian review!” it said. “A newfound talent” … I didn’t feel particularly new. I’d been singing since I was 5 years old and, after a very long journey, I could sense a deep shift in the work I wanted to do.
I am most proud of my collaborations since sidestepping into the role of founding Showcase Creative Studio, which has led to over 300 new website designs, including the new website design for The Choir of King’s College, Cambridge, EMPOWER Women Changing Music, Loud Crowd, collaborating with Audition Oracle on a new website award, and many others across the spectrum of music. I am proud to sit on the board of trustees for Song in the City UK.
Recent work also includes collaborating with artist Thulani Rachia to produce a study day performance of The Land wants Us back at Hospitalfield, writing an article on mental health and singing for Opera Now Magazine, and receiving Platinum partnership with Squarespace through 2027, ranking my design work in the top 1% of Squarespace designers worldwide. I had a great time collaborating twice with esteemed Scottish poet Jackie Kay for performances of her poetry with music by harpist Esther Swift at Celtic Connections (2025) and Edinburgh Book Festival (2024).
As a soprano, my opera credits include Procris Céphale et Procris (Ensemble Orquesta CD recording 2025, UK premiere 2023) Pamina Die Zauberflöte (Royal Opera House Education at Hull City Hall) in various projects with Hull Urban Opera, Drusilla L’incoronazione di Poppea (2022 Grimeborn Festival Ensemble OrQuesta) Fiordiligi Così fan tutte (St. Bartholemew’s Chamber Orchestra), L’amour, Zaïde Les Indes Galantes (Ensemble OrQuesta), Oberto Alcina (Ensemble OrQuesta), Madame Goldentrill The Impresario (Pulp Rocket Theatre), Barbarina, Le Nozze di Figaro (RCM Opera School), Susanna The Marriage of Figaro (Matchbox Opera), Dew Fairy Hansel and Gretel (St. Magnus Festival), Erste Dame Die Zauberflöte (2018), and Abigail Williams The Crucible (2019) with Berlin Opera Academy. In the Scottish Opera chorus for Don Giovanni (2022) and Falstaff (2021) and Carmen (2023).
My work propels forward in the direction of documentation, storytelling, asking questions, listening, and creating.
